Dependency Law
Dependency law cases can be quite challenging as they are composed of any cases that involve or should involve the Department of Children and Families. Attorney Thomas’ commitment to her clients and the community provide the ability for her to advocate for her client and the best interests of the child at the same time. Dependency cases are opened when a child has been removed from a home by the Department of Children and Families. If a child you are caring for has been removed from your home by DCF, then you may want to consider private legal representation, if you do not qualify or do not want Court-appointed legal counsel.
In other instances, dependency cases can also be opened when the Department of Children and Families does not remove a child from a home that is allegedly abusive or neglectful. In this instance, a private petition may be able to be filed.
